Sanya's aerospace industry gains development momentum

Sanya has made many achievements in the aerospace industry in recent years, driven by the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port and its efforts to become a national innovation hub.

On June 1, 2020, China released the Master Plan for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port. Over the past five years, Sanya has leveraged the policy advantages of the free trade port to establish an overall innovation system encompassing land, sea and aerospace, becoming a crucial strategic pivot for the development of new quality productive forces in Hainan FTP.

Sanya's aerospace industry has flourished. Sanya Zhongke Remote Sensing Industrial Park, which is working to create a strategic aerospace industry hub, has been completed, extending the data acquisition capabilities of China’s land observation satellite to the southern sea borders for the first time. It has attracted and nurtured 288 enterprises in aerospace information and other technological fields, establishing a full-cycle incubation model and completing the aerospace information technology industrial chain.

The first four optical satellites of Hainan-1, which are part of Sanya Zhongke Remote Sensing Industrial Park's constellation of small earth observation satellites, have been launched. It marked the first commercial satellite independently developed by Hainan, serving the construction of the Hainan FTP and providing vital data support for the development of natural resources, agriculture, forestry, marine environment, and other sectors.
